Al-Mg alloy
Al-Mg aluminum alloy performance characteristics are: good mechanical properties at room temperature; strong corrosion resistance; casting performance is relatively poor, mechanical properties of the fluctuations and wall thickness effects are large; long-term use, due to aging effect of alloy plastic Down, and even die casting phenomenon; die casting stress corrosion cracks tend to have a larger and so on. Al-Zn alloy
Al-Zn alloy die castings can obtain high mechanical properties after natural aging. When the mass fraction of zinc is more than 10%, the strength is improved obviously. The disadvantage of this alloy is poor corrosion resistance, the tendency of stress corrosion, die-casting when easy to crack. Commonly used Y401 alloy fluidity is good, easy to fill the cavity, the disadvantage is the formation of large pores, silicon, iron content is small, easy to crack.
Al-Si alloy
Because the Al-Si aluminum alloy has a small crystallization temperature interval, the silicon phase in the alloy has a large solidification latent heat and a large specific heat capacity, line shrinkage coefficient is relatively small and so on, so its casting performance is generally better than other aluminum alloy, Its filling ability is also better, hot cracking, shrinkage tendencies are relatively small. The amount of brittle phase (silicon phase) contained in Al-Si eutectic is the smallest and the mass fraction is only about 10%, so that its plasticity is better than that of other aluminum alloys. The remaining brittle phase can be further treated by metamorphism Improve plasticity. The tests also show that Al-Si eutectic crystals remain well plastic near their freezing point, which is not available for other aluminum alloys. Casting alloys often have a considerable amount of co-crystal, in order to ensure its good casting performance; the increase in the number of co-crystal will make the alloy brittle and reduce mechanical properties, there is a certain contradiction between the two. However, Al-Si eutectic has good plasticity, can better balance the mechanical properties and casting performance of the two requirements, so Al-Si alloy is currently the most widely used die-casting aluminum alloy.
